My first appearance at the Irish Open is done. I really liked the course and i felt good. But soon i would notice that everything would change. The first few holes were very difficult: Rain and low temperatures would not help me to get into my game. I counted the several times i opened and closed my umbrella again. The second round started off better and i was satisfied to hit 14 greens in regulation. But for the final field the scores were unfortunately to high.
Just after rainy Ireland i headed to Wales. I thought, well it can only get better now. But the weather would not care about us girls playing golf, wrapped like a skier.
Thursday i started at 9.20 am. I stood on the range shortly after 8 am and the wind took on, as i never felt before. The wind blew as strong that i had difficulties in balance and the balls would even roll on the green by itself.

From time to time i thought the organisation committee would stop the tournament, but we had to finish the round.
There is a LET ruling: If a player plays more than +14 the first day, she would not play the second day. 14 players therefore were asked not to play the next day. This never happened before.
I played a 79 that day but it would not be sufficient to enter the final field.
Now i am on my way to Helsinki (FIN). I am really curious about the weather. Thanks to my sponsor "Meteo News", i will be able to see the forecast and to prepare accordingly. I am pretty much sure, that woolen Hat and winter gloves will be needed again.
